Before you start

Open Claude on desktop and use the LaunchBox account that owns your community. Member or admin access alone does not qualify for this connection. Custom connector availability and who can add one depend on your Claude account or workspace permissions.

The video uses a previously saved Claude connector and an existing LaunchBox sign-in. If you’re signed out, LaunchBox opens a sign-in window on its approval page before you review access.

Six steps to get connected

  1. Open custom connectors in Claude

Open Customize → Connectors. Choose Add → Add custom connector. If LaunchBox already appears under Yours, open it and choose Connect instead of adding it again.

  2. Enter the LaunchBox address

Name the connector LaunchBox, paste the address below, and choose Continue. Follow Claude’s detected authentication settings and remaining setup prompts. Use its sign-in option to reach LaunchBox.

The video shows the entry form, then completes a previously saved connection. Claude refuses duplicate connectors with the same server address.

  3. Sign in and choose your community

On the LaunchBox approval page, sign in if prompted. The sign-in window keeps your connection request in place. Select Manage a community I own if the purpose choice appears, then choose the community you want Claude to use.

  4. Review and approve access

Read the permissions and enable optional access only when you need it. Choose Allow connection to return to Claude. An active connection shows a Disconnect button.

Some permissions allow publishing or changing content. Signing in does not approve access; the final Allow connection button does. All optional permissions stay unchecked in this demo.

  5. Make LaunchBox available in a chat

Start a new chat. Open the + menu, choose Connectors, and check that LaunchBox is switched on.

  6. Check your connected community

Ask: “Which LaunchBox community am I connected to? Use only the LaunchBox connection check; do not create or publish anything.” Confirm that the answer names your community. The demo returns Ian McDonald AI after a real connection check, with nothing created or published.

If you get stuck

I don’t see the same Claude menus

This video shows the desktop interface tested on October 12, 2026. Menu names and custom connector availability can vary. Ask your workspace administrator about custom connectors, or see Claude’s custom connector instructions.

Claude says this server already exists

Go back to Connectors → Yours, open the existing LaunchBox connector, and choose Connect if shown. If it already shows Disconnect, start a chat and run the connection check in step six.

My community isn’t listed

Check which email is signed in on the LaunchBox approval page. Use the account that owns the community. Return to Claude and start a fresh connection if you need to change accounts.

Claude connects, but a tool fails

Check that LaunchBox is enabled in the chat, then ask Claude to check the connected community. If it reports an expired connection or missing permission, reconnect and review the requested access. Refreshing an existing connection does not automatically add optional permissions.

I want to disconnect Claude

Open AI connections, find Claude under Connected assistants, and choose Disconnect. This stops future access through that connection. Previously saved work remains in LaunchBox.
